Physician Inventor Roadmap
Vector Surgical seeks innovative device ideas that improve clinical outcomes and help to drive down costs. The Physician Inventor Roadmap is the process we use when working with inventors to establish a relationship, develop the product, and successfully bring the product to the patient.
Step One: Establish the Foundation
Mutual Confidentiality Agreement
Review, complete, and submit the Mutual Confidentiality Agreement. A Vector Surgical representative will then sign the form and return a copy to you. With this agreement in place, both parties can speak candidly and feel confident that their interests are protected.
Invention Disclosure Form
Complete and submit the Invention Disclosure Form. This form asks you to describe your new product in more detail. Vector Surgical can then consider the information and determine if the device fits with our company direction and objectives. We respond to new product ideas within 14 days of submission.
Form the Partnership Jointly determine the roles, objectives, and working relationship of the inventor and Vector Surgical. The relationship is formalized.
Step Two: Develop the Product
Business Foundation Conduct thorough market research and feasibility analysis of the product. A detailed product development plan is created.
Prototype Development Develop a functioning prototype of the product, including any necessary laboratory testing.
Clinical Evaluation Perform clinical evaluation required to demonstrate safety and efficacy. Meet all FDA requirements as determined by the product. Step Three: Commercialization
Initial Product Introduction Introduce the product to market, involving the inventor as desired. Gain early market supporters and feedback. Adjust product as needed.
Broad Product Launch Broadly launch the product with full marketing and sales support.
