Lumidex PATH Biopsy Marking Suite
The Lumidex PATH Biopsy Marking Suite includes Lumidex PATH Biopsy Marking Dye and the Lumidex PATH Kiosk.

Lumidex PATH Biopsy Marking Dye
- Method to mark small and minute (<0.5 mm) diagnostic tissue
- Provides an additional identifier linked to patient or anatomic source
- Dye color shows brightly on both gross and microscopic examination and adheres throughout processing
- Adheres to many tissue types, including prostate cores, breast cores, gastrointestinal biopsies and other solid tissue
- Performs on fresh or fixed tissue, routine and frozen sections
Error Prevention
Using Lumidex PATH, dye color is accurately identified and tissue is easily visualized throughout handling. The seven bright colors reduce risk of specimen abandonment in cassette, mold or wax during microtoming. Slides are easily matched to source and contaminants are quickly evident for tissue marked with Lumidex PATH.

The Superior Method to Mark Biopsy Tissue
Lumidex PATH is a more complete and robust method of biopsy marking compared to other options.
Unlike stains such as eosin, Lumidex PATH features seven colors and improves tissue visualization throughout processing, including on the H&E slide – preventing misidentification, contamination and omission error.
Direct application of traditional pathology inks can fragment the specimen or coat the tissue too heavily. Lumidex PATH requires no dilution, no applicators and adheres more effectively than diluted inks.
Barcode labels are not attached directly to the tissue, leaving it vulnerable to misidentification each time the tissue is moved to a new container. Further, barcodes do not highlight instances
of contamination.
Genetic tests are prohibitively expensive and do not distinguish tissue from different anatomic sites of a single patient. They provide identification or confirmation of error only after a significant delay.
